Terms & Conditions

By booking skip hire services with Blackman Skips, you agree to the following terms, designed to ensure clarity, safety, and compliance for all parties involved.s

Agreement Overview

When you book a service with Blackman Skips, you are entering into a professional agreement.

  • The Customer: Agrees to adhere to these service guidelines, specifically regarding the safe and legal use of our equipment.

  • The Company: Agrees to provide, deliver, and collect skips as scheduled, and to manage waste disposal in accordance with environmental regulations.

Booking and Delivery
  • Process: Bookings are confirmed via email following an assessment of availability.

  • Placement: Customers are responsible for ensuring there is adequate and safe space for the skip. While we exercise care during delivery, Blackman Skips is not responsible for damage to private driveways, pavements, or underground infrastructure when placement permission has been granted.

Included Services

Standard hire includes delivery, collection, and responsible waste disposal within a 7-day period (unless otherwise arranged). Please note that our skips are strictly for general waste; specific hazardous materials—including but not limited to asbestos, fridges, freezers, paints, oils, solvents, tyres, batteries, gas cylinders, and biological waste—are prohibited.

Customer Responsibilities

To ensure we remain compliant and safe, we require customers to:

  • Avoid Overfilling: Skips must not be loaded beyond the fill line.

  • Equipment Security: Skips must not be moved once placed by our drivers.

  • Prohibited Items: Do not place hazardous or restricted materials in the skip.

  • Failed Collections: We reserve the right to charge for failed collections or contaminated waste, though we will always communicate with you prior to taking such steps.

Payments and Cancellations
  • Payment: Full payment is required at the time of booking to confirm your slot.

  • Cancellations: Cancellations made at least 48 hours prior to delivery are eligible for a full refund. Cancellations made within 48 hours or on the day of delivery may be subject to an administrative fee or a partial refund, depending on the circumstances.

Permits

If a skip must be placed on a public road, a local council permit is required. Blackman Skip can facilitate this application for an additional fee. Please allow 3–5 working days for processing. It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure a permit is in place to avoid potential council fines.

Safety Guidelines
  • Ensure the skip does not obstruct pedestrian paths or emergency exits.

  • Do not climb inside the skip.

  • If the skip is stored on a public road overnight, please ensure appropriate safety lighting or cones are used.

Data Protection & Privacy

We handle your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Information collected is strictly for the purpose of service delivery (booking, logistics, and communication) and is never sold to third parties. Our full Privacy Policy is available on our website.

Regulatory Compliance

Blackman Skip operates in full compliance with all relevant UK waste management laws, including guidelines set by the Environment Agency and the Health & Safety Executive (HSE).
